In-person counselling

This is the traditional approach to counselling (without the reclining couch!) where you meet in a room with a counsellor to discuss your concerns and gain support.

The advantage of face to face counselling is that the therapist can observe body language as well as focus on the words you use. Slight sighs or pauses are easily picked up and help identify the source of  emotional difficulty.

Telephone Counselling

Telephone counselling offers much greater flexibility in terms of location and scheduling for both client and therapist. Telephone counselling can be highly effective for clients with access or transport issues.

However telephone counselling is more challenging for couple or family work and also removes interpretation of body language as an additional source of information.

On-line Counselling

On-line counselling encompasses a number of different approaches. I offer video, audio and instant messaging. This enables me to offer the benefits of both telephone and face-to-face counselling as well as a written form of counselling. This enables you to have access anywhere in the world (although I am not able to work with clients in the USA or Canada) and also removes many access and transport challenges.
